Time Travel

They would go back and stop something from happening

They would kill Hitler

They would give medicine to a mother who died in childbirth

They would stop a pilot from going on a suicide mission

But

I believe that would be the worst possible thing to do

You may call me crazy and insensitive

But have you not thought of the consequences?

Consequences follow every action, whether good

Or bad

They change our lives in ways we couldn't imagine

Even if it means you simply lose a dollar

Or a lover

So imagine

What do you think would happen if you did these things with a time machine?

Let's say you kill Hitler before he conquers Germany

What if someone stronger, even more clever, were to take his place instead? What if we never had a WW2 then, but have it now,when we could destroy the Earth iteself?

Let's say you did save that mother, and that child grows up with her

That person will now be completely different. Their personality, their morales, their mental state are now altered from before. They do not appreciate their parents as much as they had appreciated their father. They may no longer be your friend if they do not like or you do not like their new self.

And let's say you save that one pilot from certain death

What if he had been a vital part of the mission? What if, because they didn't go on that mission, the rest of the pilots failed

And died

See how one idea you may think is good can turn out to be horrific? 

Scientists say time machines are impossible

But what if they are not?

Will you do what's right?

Will you time travel for good?
